Had to bust out the camera the other morning to snap some pics of my furry roommates lounging in the sun. Well, Shay was sunbathing, Kaysea just wanted to get in a couple shots. The Animals of Coastal Animal Rescue

Just a short while ago, I posted about a project I was going to start working on at a local pet shelter here in Myrtle Beach. I volunteered to photograph the 400+ animals at Coastal Animal Rescue for them to have images to post on adoption websites and the like. Although it is going a little slower than I had anticipated, we are making progress! Some of the animals I have photographed have been adopted out and found their fur-ever homes! All the puppies that I had posted on my first posting, have warm happy families to spend the rest of their lives with <3 Whether or not my pictures had anything to do with it… probably not. But the fact is they have happy homes now!

Since then, I have been going back at least once a week to photograph a handful of the animals there. I was trying to get as many as I could in one shot but it was just too much. 400 some animals is really A LOT of animals. So, I have found it’s best to just chip away at it and do little bits at a time. And it has been such a pleasure getting to know and work with all the dedicated employees and volunteers of Coastal Animal Rescue! Everyone is so passionate there about what they do and finding every single animal there a safe and happy home Here are some more pics from my exploits at C.A.R and of course there will be more to come!

So, I know I don’t know that many people in South Carolina yet, but hopefully these images and the many more that I have taken and will take will pull at someones heart and get them to go out and adopt! Too many animals need homes young and old. So many things have changed over the past several months for me! It’s a little crazy. But it is bitter sweet in that I was sad to leave San Diego as my home, but I am so excited about the opportunities for my portrait business to grow now in the south east of our country! South Carolina has proven to be a very beautiful state and I just made my first trip down to Charleston where I am thinking of setting up shop and fell in LOVE with it! Now I was only in the downtown area and it was gorgeous! All the plantation style homes and buildings. So much history and culture! It was truly romantic! I am hoping to get some photos soon to post up here of the city to share how pretty it really is! Anyway, been working on redoing my website and getting all primped for this new year. Stop on in a check it out and feel free to let me know what you think of it. I am currently working on a new logo also for my business and hope to be having that in the near future. Fingers crossed! Exploring Myrtle Beach State Park

Got to go on a short but nice little hike today through Myrtle Beach State Park with my best friends because it was an absolutely gorgeous January day! We had a good time walking the trails and sniffin’ around

I think this is called a Sea Oat. They are everywhere, but we are not allowed to pick them.

The Start of a Hopeful Adventure

Today I had the pleasure of meeting with all the volunteers of the Coastal Animal Rescue in Murrells Inlet South Carolina. This dedicated group of people run a shelter and clinic providing warmth, food and water to over 400 stray cats that have been left without a home. It was overwhelming walking into this place and seeing all of these animals who are just craving for your attention and love. I have decided to offer my photographic services to documenting each and every animal in that place so that they can have images to post on adoption websites and in local advertisements. Today was my first day visiting the place and we didn’t have much time to start this project, but I did get a chance to visit and photograph the several canine inhabitants that were in their own little section in the back. I don’t know if these puppies have names yet, but they were all personality It was hard for me not to take all of them home myself. Here are the first of many images that I will be taking at this shelter in hope that these images will help portray the unique personalities of every creature in this place, and in turn, help find every one of these animals a loving home.

This little guy was such a little teddy bear. Very playful and lovable. One of those puppies that you just want to squeeze.

I was in a seperate section photographing one of the pups when I turned around to find the siblings fighting for my attention

How could you say no?

This was the only sharp image I could get of this little girl. She wanted to bite my camera in the WORST way

I wasn’t planning on posting any of these pictures, but being there and seeing these animals made me think about how much people don’t think about all of the homeless animals out there already. And not to mention the importance of spaying or neutering your pet. There are too many animals that need homes and a caring family. Obviously I don’t know many people here in South Carolina yet and I don’t expect anyone to be flying down here to adopt any of these puppies or cats , but if you are thinking about taking a pet into your home, PLEASE consider rescuing or adopting first. These facilities can only hold so many animals and I think we all know what happens when a lot of these places get too full.

Some Portraits with Jennifer and Michael!

So, this session has been in the works since ohhhhhhhhhhh…. Last December I believe. Yeah, this session just was not going to get done by the sound of it. We would schedule a day to get together and then something would come up on my end, or their end… And then we would reschedule! I think we rescheduled about 8 times was my last count But we FINALLY did it!! And man did we have a great time! I had met Jennifer and Michael on a couple occasions at two weddings I photographed last year and was happy to hear that they wanted a portrait session together! Now when I ever say a couple is disgustingly cute together, I mean it in the most endearing way of course. These two have been married for several years now and they act like they just started dating yesterday! Which made for some fun pictures of course! I didn’t have to tell them to do anything! Makes my job heck of a lot easier So here is Jennifer and Michael’s long awaited portrait session!

Few and Far Between

So due to this crazy weather we were having today, I figured it would be a good chance to go out and grab some sunset pictures down by the pier in my hood! And did I get lucky! It was perfect for pictures. I was in amongst the 30 other photographers that were down there who had the same idea, but I would like to think that mine are unique and just different than their’s… I hope… Anyway, here are a couple of my favs!

New Addition to the Widosh Family!!

And everyone give a warm welcome to baby Trenton! And what better way to introduce this new branch of the Widosh brood than with some fun pictures!!! Between my bestie Laura B Scott and myself, we were able to grab some fun filled pictures of Trenton and his family Checkem’ out!

Yeah he was sleeping when we got there... But we just went ahead and woke him up.

But he didn't mind! He was all like "Heeeeeeeeey"!

Then there is BIG SIS - Alias: Bella Bear - AKA: Isabella.

In a desperate feat to draw attention from her little brother, playful jumping ensued on Mom and Dads neatly made bed.

OH! You see me now. OK I will pose and look cute.

Then after a wonderful picnic (compliments of the Widosh family), we continued our portraits in Mission Bay Park.

Trenton... got bored....

Bella decided to abandon her roll as little girl....

And become a monkey!

Because monkeys like to climb and swing!

Then we caught the monkey for yet another family portrait

Then we had to let her loose to climb a tree with papa

Then papa had to go and start flashing gang symbols on the playground claiming his turf... Nice Paul... Real nice...
